What "Keeping the Family Afloat" Really Looks Like
(well...mostly)

Yup, we're (recurrent) homeschoolers. In other words, we're all completely nuts--for one reason or another. Whether that means we're crazy for choosing to homeschool or homeschool has made us crazy, I'm not sure which, though I suspect it's a little of both.
But we're not just homeschoolers.

We're also preppers.

And writers. (Well, one of us is, at least.)

And conservatives.

M. C. Sutton

Misty is a wife and mother of two, a former homeschooler, a prepper and instructor, an agrarian, a hardcore home-economist, an Emergency Management and Political Science major, and (when she finds the time) an author of everything from apocalyptic fiction to preparedness curriculum for kids. She and her family enjoy spending their days in the beautiful and thriving area of Northwest Arkansas, where they hope to ride out the no-doubt ensuing zombie apocalypse with their equally quirky (and just as well trained) closest friends.

And a couple of crazy-in-love kids (Though not so much on the "kids" part anymore, we keep reminding each other.)

In short, we're a family. And unfortunately for all of us, that means less and less every day.
High rates of divorce, coupled with a lower and lower popularity of marriage and a general devalue of family by the media, has made it harder to maintain the traditional values on which our country was founded. Things like consumption without limitation, the "buy now, pay later" mentality, and a "do whatever you want without consequences" attitude have slowly brought our society to the mass insanity that it has reached today. Join the Sutton family as we fight against the current to maintain our own personal prudence through a time that is everything but (and quite possibly risk our own sanity in the process).

*UPDATE*
Homeschoolers, you will find, are often on and off again. When necessary, they may have one or all children in public, private, or charter school to suite the needs of the child or the family at the time. As of right now, we do not have any at home, but that just means more time for mom to focus on writing! (Lets see how long it lasts.)
